Jim and his son Jack Pappas '16 Legacy in for Gamma Theta
A new version of the Gamma Theta Alumni Association has recently been formed to benefit the brotherhood of WSU Betas! Previously, the Gamma Delta Building Association has assumed the role of the alumni association in addition to its primary role as our chapter house corporation. A decision was made to separate the two roles to clarify the distinction between GTAA and GDBA and to reduce volunteers' workloads in each group. So now there are three separate alumni groups with separate functions to support our chapter at WSU: GTAA, GDBA, and the Advisor Team.
The new GTAA will work to engage brothers more meaningfully. We’ll do this by sponsoring more brotherhood events to connect brothers throughout the year. We’ll work to get brothers more involved with the chapter through volunteer opportunities. We’ll work to support our chapter with a non-profit status for fundraising. We’ll ensure the undergraduate awards remain funded now and into the future. We’ll support the chapter with other fundraising needs. We’ll represent the alumni group at the Beta General Convention annually. We’ll communicate frequently with the alumni group.
The new GTAA has made considerable progress in the past few months with a new board of directors, new officers, and new bylaws. Here is your board of directors and officers:
Jim Pappas ’85 President
Stuart Vreeburg ’90 Vice President
Jason Hagens ’92 Secretary
Dan Young ’83 Treasurer
Frank Cholaj ‘82
Matt Barton ‘02
Bailey Erickson ‘21
With over 1,000 living Gamma Theta alumni, we want to create closer connection to fulfill the promise of lifelong brotherhood for WSU Betas. I look forward to seeing you at a brotherhood event soon!
Yours in _kai_,
Jim Pappas ‘85
GTAA President
