Each year, spring arrives in Pullman, WA, with a sense of renewal. The Palouse turns green, the wind carries a little more warmth, and the Washington State University campus buzzes with students pushing toward the end of the academic year. For the brothers of Beta Theta Pi and the alumni of Beta Theta Pi  Gamma Theta Chapter, spring represents something even more meaningful: momentum.

Momentum is the quiet force that moves a chapter forward. It’s not created by a single event or by one generous donor. It builds over time through connection, engagement, and a shared commitment to the brotherhood that began long ago when you walked onto the lawn at Linden Street to become a Beta.  Being a true Beta Alumni continues long after graduation: it’s about helping a brother out in need and celebrating the good and the bad.

Reconnecting with Pullman

For many alumni, Pullman is more than a college town; it’s where lifelong friendships began. Each visit back to campus, each interaction with current undergraduates, strengthens the bridge between generations of Betas. Spring offers countless opportunities to reconnect. Alumni returning for chapter events, parents' weekend, volunteering during Finals Week to make breakfast, mentoring students preparing for life after graduation, or simply stopping by to say hello.  All these acts of kindness reinforce the message that Gamma Theta’s brotherhood extends far beyond the undergraduate years. When alumni stay connected, undergraduates feel it. And when undergraduates feel supported, the entire chapter grows stronger.

From Social to Strategic

Alumni gatherings are always valuable, whether they happen around a football weekend, a summer barbecue, or a spontaneous reunion. But spring is also the ideal time to take a broader look at the chapter’s future. Strong alumni organizations use this season to reflect and plan. What goals should we pursue in the coming year? How can we strengthen alumni participation? What improvements will help ensure the chapter house and the undergraduate experience remain strong for decades to come? Momentum happens when an alumni community moves from simply staying in touch to working together with purpose. With that in mind, get ready for an event in Seattle, WA. We plan to bring back the Beta 500 in a simpler fashion. Save the Date:

Strengthening the Alumni Active Connection

The relationship between alumni and active members is one of the greatest advantages a fraternity can offer. Alumni bring experience, perspective, and professional networks. Undergraduate brothers bring energy, ideas, and the promise of the next generation of leadership. Spring is an ideal time to connect those two worlds. Career panels, mentorship conversations, internship introductions, and informal networking all create meaningful opportunities for students preparing to step into the professional world. For seniors, especially, knowing that a strong Gamma Theta alumni network stands behind them is invaluable. It turns a fraternity experience into something even greater: a lifelong community.

Building Sustainable Support

Financial support will always be part of maintaining a strong chapter, but successful alumni communities focus on participation as much as contribution. When alumni stay engaged, whether through volunteering, mentoring, attending events, or making a gift, they reinforce a culture of shared responsibility. It reminds every brother that Gamma Theta’s strength is not built by one individual, but by a collective commitment to the chapter’s future. Small acts of support, multiplied across a large and active alumni base, create lasting stability.

Staying Connected

Communication is the fuel that keeps momentum alive. Sharing chapter updates, highlighting alumni achievements, celebrating undergraduate successes, and keeping brothers informed about upcoming opportunities to engage all help maintain the rhythm of an active alumni community. Every message, every update, every story reminds brothers that they remain part of something enduring. It’s the Lore that needs to be remembered.

The Momentum Continues

Momentum doesn’t happen overnight. It grows from hundreds of small actions: a visit back to Pullman, a mentorship conversation, a volunteer role, a donation, or simply reaching out to a fellow brother. Each of those moments adds another turn to the flywheel that keeps Gamma Theta strong.

Spring reminds us that growth is always possible. With a dedicated and engaged alumni base, the brothers of Gamma Theta have everything they need to continue building a chapter that future generations will be proud to call their own.

And as always, Go Cougs and Proud to be a BETA
